five cats =
get up in the morning. litter boxes somewhat used. can't leave them that way 'cause when you get home they'll be overfilled. so you clean them. all three of them. (3)
but by cleaning them you now give the cats the suggestion to go. you finish one and turn around and they're lined up behind you to use the one you just cleaned. as you go from one to the other to the other, they follow you to sample your handiwork and dump in a clean litterbox. which means you have to make one more pass and clean them all once more before everyone's happy. so by the time you're finished and you leave for work you have cleaned 3 boxes twice each. (6)
throw in three food bowls and three water bowls once each in the morning when you get up. (12)
throw in the food and water you leave for the 3 regular strays that make a point to camp out on mr. dumbass' doorstep at 4am each morning. one big bowl of each. (14)
you come home and repeat steps 1-2-3-4. (28)
and once more before retiring you clean out the three litter boxes. (31)
total....
15 litter boxes a day
8 bowls of water
8 bowls of food (averages out to about 18 lbs a week)

then throw in all the ratsh*t when you go out of town and have to transport all of them to a kitty hotel for the week. jeez.
then throw in the daily brushing, scratching, hugging, kissing and licking (they do the licking).....
.....and it makes it all worthwhile.

(I never even used to BE a cat person....heh)

I LOVE the pictures!!!
Okay, I have three - How many do YOU have???
one male 8 years old, Chuey. one female born March 5, Sedona. three kittens, one male two females, born Aug. 23...Dakota, Parker and Sierra. the four young ones have the same mommy, Cali (calico). she's a stray from around the complex here. she's been here 6 years and I've helped her with 7 litters. she comes scratching on the door when she's ready and she usually has them in my closet.
So out of 28 kittens I've found homes for all of them, counting the 4 I kept. Twenty four families around my complex have cats from Cali. lol Prolific. And.....I think last time I saw her she was preggos again. dang. I can expect a scratch at the door in the next few weeks and my total will probably go up by 4 more. I keep figuring the last litter will be her last....she's gotta be pushing 9 yrs old. I guess they must have 'em till they're 90 (people years)!
So you can understand the title to the blog.....I'm bushed!
Awwwww!!! I'm glad you added the pictures of yours as well!
Well, I underestimated Cali by a week and a half! lol
Came home an hour ago and she was waiting outside my door.....looks like she's due anytime. So I opened the door and she went immediately past all her 4 "children" to the closet. Guess I'll be hearing little yips later tonight sometime. *bs* I love this part 'cause for the first 4-5 weeks there's nothing to do. She feeds 'em and looks after them. And they stay in the closet....no running around. But week five...ugh! I now have 4-5 weeks to start lining up takers.
How many can I put you down for?
